My old compact camera have seen its last days... I can not even close it anymore (to much beachtrips and sand hihi) ..it has been with me everywhere and have given me 1000s of great memories. RIP my Canon :)

A new camera was on my wishinglist this Christmas...and Santa was good to me.

I take so much pictures...and for a long time I have been filling up my harddisk at least once a month hihi...so much work to burn and make place all the time. Santa helped me with that problem too...as he gave me an extra harddisk with 1.5 TerraByte place. (That is like 320 DVDs). Juhuu!!!

Rengetek kepet keszitek....allandoan betelt a gepem a fotokkal....honapban egyszer tuti.... hihi...annyira sok munka kiirni oket, helyet csinalni. Jezuska ezen a problemamon is segitett....kaptam tolle egy harddisk-et 1.5 TerraByte hellyel!!Az olyan 320 DVD-nek felel meg! Juhuu!

Today we bought our dinner for New Years Eve :-) We tried this last year too and it was a success, so no reason to not repeat something like that. Pictures from last year roasted pig are HERE.

This little pig is 5.4 kilo and it will be first time for Sarah and Adrian to taste roasted pig made in the oven...so I am looking forward to this. I hope I can make it to a new and exciting experience for them.

Have you ever roasted a pig in the oven before? Do you have any tip? What is your plan for NY food?

Did we get snow for New Years Eve?? This picture is taken today in Santa Pola...just a short 15 mins drive from where we live...

Szilveszterre lesz ho?? Ezt a kepet ma csinaltam Santa Polan...15 percre onnan,ahol alkunk...

..NO Snow hihi.. Santa Pola has salt ponds and when you drive along the coast you can see several white mountains like this...and very often flamingos. See more here.

On our way into Alicante we stopped at a beautiful park called El Palmeral. Every time we have passed this place on the way to/from Alicante we have been talking about stopping. Today was that day!

Alicante fele megaltunk egy nagyon szep parkban,amit El Palmera- nak hivnak. Ahanyszor elmentunk mellette mostanaban,mindig meg akartuk nezni...ma vegre sikerult!

From the marina we went for a stroll on Alicante Explanada promenade. There we stopped for some food and shopping.

At the end of the promonade we went into Canalejas Park where they have these HUGE trees, and I could "play" a little hihihi. By the end of the day we drove to Elche (on the way home), so Sarah could do some shopping at Primark....

It was pretty cold yesterday...like 10C...but Adrian really wanted to try our pool..so we let him do so. Hahahaha, he came up pretty fast. But it was very brave of him, I couldnt do it!

Nagyon hideg volt tegnap...10C...de Adrian kiakarta probalni a medencenket...eleg gyorsan kijott a vizbol.haha

Not easy to see on these pictures, but the Christmas tree is chocolate brown. First time I have seen a tree like that and it was a perfect fit with the colors in the house.

Nem konnyu latni a kepeken,de a karacsonyfa csokolade barna. Meg nem lattam eddig csokolade barna mufenyot, nagyon jol illik a hazba.

My favorite spice - Natvigs Krydderblanding - (Norwegian Spice)

HOW TO MAKE RIBBE (LOIN RIB OF PORK)

Rub the loin with a generous amount of Natvigs Krydder (or salt and pepper which has been thoroughly mixed (twice as much salt as pepper)). Make sure that the bones are "cut" off / broken (inside/backside of the loin) and make square cuts on the rind. Let the pork stand in water for 24 hours faced down (In a cold place like fridge). Let the water level be a few cm up on the meat.

Preheat your oven to 250C . Take the ribbe out from the water, empty the pan and refill it with fresh water and spice the ribbe again. Place back the ribbe, still faced down. Take silver foil on, all over the ribbe and place the ribbe "low" in the oven. After 30 mins you take away the silver foil AND turn the ribbe, let it rest on an oven rack ontop on the pan..so the fat drips down to the water. Reduce the heat to 200C and let it stand for 1H-1.5H until it looks nice and brown. Once "done" turn on the grill so the rind becomes chrispy...these cracklings are really good. OBS it is very easy to "burn" the rind if you dont pay attention during this "grilling". It only takes a few minuts to make the rind chrispy. Let the food rest for 10-15 mins before you eat it.

The accompaniments served with ribbe vary. We like to have potatoes, brussels sprouts, sauerkraut, red kraut and tyttebær (lingon/cowberries) and the sauce we used is based on the water/fat that we had in the oven. To make enought..empty the water into a bowl 1 time during the session and add more water. That way you will for sure have enought sauce.

The final result - Ribbe is a very jucie and tasty dish...that I am sure will be on my menu every Christmas from now on.
